Lewis Crocker, the IBF welterweight champion, is set to make his first title defense against Liam Paro in May, according to his manager Jamie Conlan. The fight, which was initially scheduled to take place in Crocker's home city of Belfast, has been moved to Townsville, Queensland, Australia due to an injury to the champion. Conlan's team provided a medical notice to Paro's team and the IBF requesting extra time for Crocker to recover from the injury. The 25,500-capacity Queensland Country Bank Stadium is a leading contender to host the fight. Crocker won the title with a split decision verdict over Paddy Donovan at Belfast's Windsor Park in September. The fight against Paro, which was initially scheduled to take place in Australia in early April, will now take place in May. Conlan says it is 'a really exciting time' for his fighter, who will be defending his title against one of the hardest fighters in the ring.
